Hi I'm Erin

Food intolerance sufferer. Gluten, eggs, and nuts, which is an impossible combination for dessert. My mission is to provide dessert options that everyone can enjoy and raise awareness about food allergy and intolerance.

goodAF*baking is a labor of love, created to provide dessert inclusivity and to free those with food allergies, food intolerances, and special diets from ingredient label reading and searching for safe foods.

By the time I figured out I had multiple food intolerances, I had suffered a year of insomnia, itching, joint swelling, brain fog, chest pain, and difficulty swallowing. My daughter endured months of nausea and skin rashes before we discovered she couldn't tolerate dairy.

If you’re like me and my daughter, and have multiple food allergies or intolerances, you know how difficult it is to find a safe fresh-baked dessert. We’ve searched restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores and found plenty of sweets that are gluten-free but contain eggs, are vegan but not gluten-free, or are gluten-free and vegan but contain nut flour or nut milk. It’s an exhausting search, and we always walk away empty-handed. Miserable, never-ending label reading…

While there are bakeries that offer some gluten-free and vegan options, their goods commonly contain soy, nuts, and peanuts, making the safe options few or none for someone with these additional intolerances. They also commonly use allergens and gluten in their kitchens, causing a risk of cross-contamination.

Years ago, I began learning substitutions for wheat flour, dairy, and eggs in baking. I later realized with just a little more effort I could use ingredients that don't contain any of the top allergens. Most importantly, I figured out how to make things that still taste great - you shouldn't be able to tell the difference between ours and the allergen-packed originals!

Every item on goodAF*baking's menu is Allergen-Free*, gluten-free, and vegan to make ordering easy, but detailed ingredient lists are still included if you want to read labels. 😊

*Everything is gluten-free and vegan. No wheat/gluten, milk/dairy, egg, tree nut, peanut, soy, sesame, fish, or shellfish ingredients used in anything we make.
